Debbie's Chocolate Cake

The best chocolate cake you can possibly make!


The ingredients you need:
1 stick unsalted butter 
1/2 cup vegetable oil 
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 
1 cup water 
1/2 cup well shaken buttermilk 
2 eggs 
1 tsp vanilla 
2 cups flour 
2 cups sugar 
1 tsp baking soda 
1 tsp salt

The tools you need:
small saucepan 
measuring spoons 
measuring cups 
rubber spatula 
electric mixer 
cake pans 
whisk 
bowl

Combine butter, oil, water and cocoa in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until butter is melted and mixture is not quite boiling

combine buttermilk, eggs and vanilla and whisk until mixed

In the large bowl of an electric mixer, combine flour, sugar, salt and baking soda

Add chocolate mixture to the flour/sugar mixture and beat well

5.

add buttermilk mixture to the chocolate mixture and beat until well combined

Pour batter into 2 nine-inch cake pans that have been greased and floured, or 24 muffin cups that have been lined with muffin liners

7.

Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven: 18-20 minutes for cupcakes, 30 minutes for cake pans (check that a tester comes out clean)
